I took my first
weaving class today and I really enjoyed every aspect of it, especially because it was a humid rainy day so it was perfect weather to be inside learning something new. However, I wil say it is a
long process to get the yarn onto the loom to start weaving. Although I am a beginner with no prior experience, it was a good 4 hours before I was actually weaving, whereas with knitting regardless of how many stitches you need to cast on, it doesn't or (rather shouldn't) take longer than half hour tops. Right now, I am using a Rigid Heedle Loom,so am restricted to any real pattern but look forward to using the 4 shaft table looms where patterns are possible. Overall, I think I am more attracted to fiber arts and crafts vs other mediums, such as clay or paper. Of course, I've already forgotten all the terms that the instructor used, but I'm not too concerned about that. The one drawback is that the looms are quite expensive. The loom that I am using now is about 200$ and the 4 Shaft loom is around 500$!
The studio was brightly light, clean and well maintained. At the studio, there was this chair:

Although designed for children, I think an adjustable wooden chair is perfect for adults as well. Find out more information on the Tripp Trapp chair
here.
The chair reminded me of the eclectic items you find at modern art museums. So I checked out the ICA museum shop. Here are some of the things I would love to purchase:
