While riding the Amtrak home this morning, I had this craving to sit down with some paper and fold some origami. I remember the first origami structure I made following instructions--It was a whale from a calender in the 2nd or 3rd grade. Prior to that, I had known how to make jumping frogs or cranes, but as soon as I made that whale, I was hooked. There was one summer when I borrowed a book from the library called Origami Omnibus; and proceeded to make all sorts of ridiculous things. Needless to say, my parents were less than pleased that I was wasting my time on folding origami.
