16 April 2010

Yesterday I took a day trip to DC. I decided Tuesday night, so there wasn't a lot of planning involved, especially because I was studying for my peds final and still getting over from being sick. So for not planning very much, I had a fantastic time! The weather was exactly what I needed it to be.

In order of appearance, here are the fun filled things I did during my day trip:

1. discounted MARC tickets with my Student Advantage card (I'll take every dollar that I don't have to pay!)
2. lunch with Paula in Chinatown--shrimp dumpling noodle soup, and crepes for dessert (I was somewhat nostalgic for HK Eatery in Boston, which is probably the only place I've eaten dumpling noodle soup. I remember this one time, we walked all the way from the Wharf to Chinatown for that meal, and I had badly bruised the bottom of my foot getting into the water on some Boston Harbor Island [obviously that trip wasn't that memorable])
3. finding my way to The Good Stuff Eatery for their toasted marshmallow milkshake (streets around the Capitol are really quite confusing)
4. napping on the Circulator on the way to Georgetown
5. getting really familiar with the stores on M and Wisconsin Street.
6. buying some early birthday presents for myself at Anthro, Sephora, and American Apparel (I can't believe it either, but I got this. Also dreamed about buying all the beautiful papers at PaperSource (still hoping they will host another Polaroid Transfers class) and found some beautiful ribbon in a random fabric store; at 6.99$ a yard, I will pass for now.
7. dinner with Kyung at Bodega (can't go wrong with sangria and scallops!)

Tonight was the last night of my peds clinical. Starting Monday is the last semester for my program!
