While riding the Amtrak home this morning, I had this craving to sit down with some paper and fold some origami. I remember the first origami structure I made following instructions--It was a whale from a calender in the 2nd or 3rd grade. Prior to that, I had known how to make jumping frogs or cranes, but as soon as I made that whale, I was hooked. There was one summer when I borrowed a book from the library called Origami Omnibus; and proceeded to make all sorts of ridiculous things. Needless to say, my parents were less than pleased that I was wasting my time on folding origami.

I found these awesome origami tessellation patterns here and here; reminds me of some of the visuals in Anthro

bonjour

I love the french knots that Emma Smart used to create the negative space for the word hello. I've never embroidered before, but I would be willing to give it a try, although my experience with a needle is very limited.

P.S. This picture is too adorable

message texte

I'm really not a fan of text messages. Although many argue that it is much more efficient than other methods of communicating (yes I would have to agree if we're comparing it to two cans and a piece of string), I really enjoyed reading these embroidered text messsages. I like this one the best of the bunch but find them all here.
