I love this light fixture. I can't wait for the summer so I can start decorating!{via the Smoking Goat Restaurant on Design*Sponge}

I've been thinking lately about moving from my apartment. I'll stay for a little bit after the program is over, and hopefully get a job, but I guess I'm not holding my breath for that.
And so one major issue comes up--how am I going to transport my mirror. I love it, and I don't want to part with it, but I guess it wasn't the smartest investment I made for a temporary housing situation. I guess, in fairness, I didn't think Baltimore was going to be as transient as it appears now to be.

Most of the time, I like my apartment, when it's relatively clean (which it hasn't been lately). But I was in an apartment in Chelsea this weekend, and it made me envious to have a permanent home.
In general, I enjoy all the "stuff" that I've collected through the years. I should display them better, but I also don't want to invest in it since I think I'm leaving at the end of this program, unless I get an awesome job here. But, this apartment in France makes me want to throw away all my things and start afresh.

My bathroom in my apartment is pretty small but one thing I really like about it is the small window in it. I love taking a shower with just the natural sunlight coming through. It makes taking a shower that much more peaceful and relaxing. It reminds me of the outdoor shower at the "hotel" when I was on my safari in South Africa.

I absolutely love filament bulbs, and Design*Sponge has a DIY tutorial for them! Now I just have to feel comfortable working with sockets and wire. CB2 has a beautiful alternative too.{via Design*Sponge}

Last night I didn't have a problem sleeping, but before I fell asleep, I thought about how I can change the layout of my apartment to maximize the space. Well the first thing is clean. I need to organize and get rid of JUNK. But maybe I'll move the microwave out towards the living room and have a little eating nook in the corner by the large mirror. Then maybe move the papasan into the bedroom. I'm not sure exactly...but starting to brainstorm.

I've realized that the problem with living alone isn't the intermittent loneliness you feel at random times during the day, or the fact that you have to clean the bathroom every time, or that the garbage doesn't get thrown out miraculously. No, the real problem is that when you want to cook something, you have to think about how to make it for one person so you don't get stuck eating it 4 days in a row.
Right now, among my many cravings is some gingerbread pancakes and cinnamon buns. I had one cinnamon bun at Aquitaine for brunch prior to coming back to Boston. Suffice it to say it did not satiate me. And I guess I had one prior to that one at Francesca Cafe the last Monday of December. Maybe I just love cinnamon buns that much? Also, I've been so happy eating roasted chestnuts and persimmons this winter! Food never fails to make me smile in spite of what's going on around me. (P.S. The fruit serving resolution is going strong...even though it's only been the 3rd day)

I would love one of these thing-a-ma-bob's in my kitchen. It's exactly what I need. Right now I have to use my cell phone to let me know the time since I only have a clock in the bedroom. I'm trying to get away with not having a microwave oven, although I suppose it would be nice to have a timer.

I have been searching Baltimore's Craigslist for about 2 months straight now. That's where I purchased my two tables. But so far, no luck finding any affordable seating pieces. I took a break from scouring those listings to look at Flor for some rug ideas and saw this awesome chair and ottoman. What an awesome color!
Now I'm going to look for some rug samples, because I'm tired of searching for rugs that cost over $200.
And this chair from Anthropologie would look great in my new apartment too!

I've never subscribed to ReadyMade before. However when I've looked through the magazine, the instructions seem too pithy. It seems more like an inspiration magazine than anything else. With that said, these box seats from the website are so neat. Seats that function as wall art when not in use. Form and function all in one! But reading through the instructions, this is definitely more of a dream project than a reality.{via ReadyMade}

I was so excited when I saw this picture in Apartment Therapy yesterday. Two Tripp Trapp chairs! Last Thursday, my friends surprised me with my own Tripp Trapp chair. I can't believe after talking about it for almost a year, I actually have one to call my own!
